Good friend Vicki Zhao got a status upgrade to a mother, but Ruby didn't feel neglected; she was seen shopping hand in hand with Director Wang Xiao Shuai, uncaring of onlooker's eyes. Last year, it was rumoured that Ruby broke up with Director Stanley Tong, followed by a resurfacing flurry concerning her past relationship with Patty Hou's fiance Ken Huang. This time around, Ruby's tightly clasped hand in Xiao Shuai's draws a clear line with all the other males.According to a firsthand media report, Vicki invited Ruby and Xiao Shuai to a meal to catch up when she was in Shanghai earlier, attending the International Film Fest. Surprisingly, the spotlight wasn't on the new mom Vicki, but instead on the satiated, joyful couple strolling hand in hand out of the restaurant: Ruby and Xiao Shuai. Not only were their hands clasped tightly, their faces were glowing with happiness, and the media described Ruby as "so full of laughter, her mouth appeared to be ready to split open!"
That day, Vicki invited the couple to dine at a hotpot restaurant before heading to KTV. However, Vicki had to return home early to take care of her child, plus, she didn't want to be a lightbulb for that long. After saying goodbye to Vicki, Ruby and Xiao Shuai were hand in hand until they got in the car, and were oblivious to all that was going around them. Ruby even laughed out loudly, and a close friend reveals that their relationship was a known secret a while back.
Earlier, Ruby was supposedly intimately connected with Patty's business-world fiance Ken Huang, leading to the ladies' blowout, as Ken's father was rumoured to have wanted Ruby to date Ken. Ruby came out to clarify that she knew Ken from two to three years back, as their parents were good family friends, but she and Ken just didn't have the spark. Also, as of late Ruby was more interested in her career in the Mainland, and so had less time to meet with Ken, making it hard for the next step in their relationship. After that, Ken began wooing Patty, leading to a fiery relationship and his subsequent proposal after only six months of dating.
Although Ken is rumoured to be worth $10 billion, Ruby appears more interested in talented directors. First, she dated Stanley Tang for close to six years before a surprise breakup in 2008. Now, her current love is also a director, looks like she has the hots for directors!
