Suited and booted: Brad Pitt gets into character on the set of his new film Moneyball

He can go from scruffy to suave within the blink of an eye.

Hollywood heart throb Brad Pitt shows just how well he scrubs up as he stepped out on the set of his new film Moneyball in Boston, Massachusetts yesterday.

The 44-year-old actor walked to the set wearing smart black trousers with a white shirt and tie under a very smart grey rain mac.

His hair was long and clean, very similar to the hairstyle he had at the start of his career when he starred in Thelma and Louise.

He wore a pair of large brown sunglasses, despite the fact it was raining.

As he strolled through the set and the rain fell, an assistant came to the superstar's aid and held an umbrella over his head while Brad adjusted his tie.

Moneyball is a film based on the life of Billy Beane, manager of the Oakland A's baseball team.

The biopic follows Beane and his attempt to put together a successful baseball team using computer generated analysis to draft relatively unknown players.

The film has been shooting over the summer in Oakland and Los Angeles and co-stars Jonah Hill, Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Robin Wright.

While Pitt is in Boston, his partner Angelina Jolie has de-camped the couples six children to Budapest in Hungary where she is currently directing a low budget movie based around the Bosnian War.
