Taiwan pop trio S.H.E's Hebe Tien and Ella Chen returned to Taipei to visit their stricken group member Selina Jen at the Linkou branch of the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, reported Taiwan media.
Tien and Chen could not visit Jen earlier because they still had to perform shows in China but rushed back to Taiwan as soon as they finished.
However, when the pair reached the hospital, they milled around for an hour before mustering the courage to visit Jen.
"Before we went in, we were very nervous and had to hold back our tears.
"She is a real SHERO (heroine). When we first saw her, her wounds and her condition, we became very agitated and our emotions ran high," Tien told reporters, adding that their heart ached as Jen looked "different from before".
"But when we spoke to her, it was she who gave us confidence and encouraged us, telling us not to worry. She is a really brave and resilient woman."
The 28-year-old pop star suffered third-degree burns over up to 40 per cent of her body when explosives went off earlier than planned while shooting TV drama series "I Have A Date With Spring" in China last Friday.
Apart from Jen's group mates, her fiance, lawyer Richard Chang, also visited Jen on Tuesday.
The couple first met in 2007 and originally planned to get married in April next year.
It is still unknown if Chang will push back the wedding date because of Selina's injuries.
According to Jen's mother, they had already taken their wedding photos.
Jen's father also revealed on Tuesday that, much to his relief, his daughter's condition had shown marked improvement - she is now able to watch television, eat, sing and even crack jokes.
"This is the first time since the accident that I had a proper meal," he said.
