Garmin-Asus nuvifone A50 (Android) and M10 (Windows Mobile) announced

Garmin-Asus has just announced its first Android smartphone – the Garmin-Asus nuvifone A50, which, according to the joint-venture, offers “more location technology” than any other Android handset.
The nuvifone A50 features a high-sensitivity GPS receiver and comes with many of the features you’ll find in high-end Gamrin navigations devices, like turn-by-turn navigation, voice prompted directions, and lane assist.
The smartphone’s maps are preinstalled on the device, which means that you’ll be able to use navigation features even when out of cell phone coverage. The A50 further supports cityXplorer maps, and comes with a “custom Garmin car mount.”
There’s also a suite of apps offered via Garmin-Asus’ connected servers, providing real-time info on weather, traffic, flight status, safety cameras or fuel prices.
The other features of Garmin-Asus nuvifone A50 include: 3.5 inch HVGA touchscreen display, on-screen QWERTY keyboard, Google Maps with Street View, Microsoft Exchange syncing, multitouch WebKit browser, 3MP camera, 4GB of internal memory, and MicroSD card support.
Garmin-Asus nuvifone A50 will be available in Europe in the first half of 2010. No word yet on its price.
Also announced today is the Garmin-Asus M10 – officially confirmed back in January. Unlike the A50, the M10 runs Windows Mobile – more exactly, Windows Mobile 6.5.3.
The M10 features a 3.5 inch WVGA touchscreen display, 3D Task Manager, Wi-Fi, Garmin GPS software, 5MP camera, and 4GB of internal memory. The smartphone will be available in Europe and Asia starting the first half of 2010.
Garmin-Asus will showcase both the nuvifone A50 and the M10 at MWC 2010 next week.
