LG Star leaks, blows benchmarking out the water with Tegra 2

The LG Star has shown up in the wild, one of what’s likely to be the first wave of NVIDIA Tegra 2 powered Android smartphones. Ostensibly just another big-screen handset, what makes the Star interesting is its Quadrant benchmarking scores, run by tipster berryjuice at Android Forums, and which comfortably blow away rival devices with a 1759 rating.

Given NVIDIA’s emphasis on multimedia with Tegra 2, there’s unsurprisingly an HDMI port on the Star. Meanwhile there’s a WVGA capacitive touchscreen and a customized version of Android 2.2 Froyo, though of course there’s no word on what version the Star will run when it eventually launches.

We can hope that’s Gingerbread, the release of which is believed to be imminent, and which will hopefully bring further speed improvements to get the most out of the Star. Other hardware specifications are in short supply, as are release dates and price.

Filming for "Hayate the Combat Butler" shifts to Japan; George Hu gets called "ajusshi" by co-star Park Shin-hye

Production for upcoming GTV idol drama Hayate the Combat Butler is currently running smoothly, and this time the cast and crew of the GTV drama have crossed over the sea over to Japan in order to continue filming at specific locations. The scenes of the latest shooting takes place over in a theme park called Huis Ten Bosch, famous for its recreations of classic Dutch buildings and also named after an official residence located in the Netherlands.

In one particular scene which took place in front of a palace at the theme park, co-stars George Hu and Park Shin-hye were situated besides a pond, and as feelings of romance started to build in the scene, out of nowhere Shin-hye ruined the moment and called her older co-star by eight years an "ajusshi (uncle)". For those of you rough on your Korean, Shin-hye basically called her Taiwanese co-star an old dude out of the blue.

Being the good-termpered person that he is, the Taiwanese actor took his upgraded title of "ajusshi" in stride, and laughed it off instead of getting angry about it. "Oh, come on. She's just saying that I'm mature." Collaborating together with his Korean co-star for almost a month for this drama, George has managed to pick up some Korean words such as "yeo dongsaeng (little sister)", which is also a term of endearment towards a younger female. Georged added, "I can talk about it to her, that eight years is really huge (in age difference). The friends she has by her side are all the same age as her."

Super Junior’s Siwon doesn’t worry about comparisons to Big Bang’s T.O.P for ‘Athena’

Super Junior’s Siwon, who has been cast for the ‘IRIS‘ spin-off, titled ‘Athena: Goddess of War’, confessed that he is not worried about being compared with Big Bang’s T.O.P’s acting in ‘IRIS’.

During the press conference for the upcoming drama held earlier on November 30th, Choi Siwon expressed,

“Jung Woo Sun hyungnim said he does not stress about comparisons. I believe in that too, and I don’t think the actors of ‘IRIS’ will worry either.

The ‘IRIS’ actors received love because of their individual colors and charms. As T.O.P had a great impact in ‘IRIS’, I hope that my devotion in my role will also please the viewers.

In saying that, I don’t mean that I will definitely have an impact. I’ve never hoped to have an impact even when I’m on stage singing. Instead of working hard in order to shine, I find that working hard in the work you are given and the job you have is more important.”

Choi Siwon’s role in ‘Athena’ is as a new agent that just got employed by the investigation agency NTS, and his character is named Kim Joon Ho.

The drama is scheduled to broadcast its pilot episode this coming December 13th, following the finale of drama, ‘Giant‘.

Rihanna GQ Magazine UK Jan. 2011 Pics

Rihanna gets red-hot on the Jan. 2011 cover of British GQ — but it’s the remarks the “Loud” star makes inside the saucy issue that is attracting all of the attention.

As luck would have it, celeb gawkers are at their wits end with hearing about the night Chris Brown went upside RiRi’s head in his rented Lambo.

'Breaking Dawn' photo: And with this, Bill Condon proves he's our people

In case you missed Bill Condon’s Thanksgiving present to Twilight fans on Twitter, behold the first non-paparazzi photo from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 1. Condon posted it on the film’s official Twitter page Nov. 25. He’s a classy Oscar winner, so he didn’t go with the accompanying text I would have: SEX! SEX! SEX! But still, more than 64,000 people have viewed the honeymoon shot. (In the book, Edward bites a pillow, or two, instead of Bella’s neck during their first night together, hence the feathers.) I love that this is the first photo he chose to reveal. He’s letting us know we’ll get our romance, and even if we won’t be seeing things that would garner the film an R rating, it’ll still get us excited.

Microsoft announces 2.5 million Kinects sold in first 25 days

Points for style, Microsoft, crossing the 2.5 million Kinect sensors sold mark a convenient 25 days into your global sales of that ever-so-hackable / sometimes-cool-for-gaming item. This number factors in Black Friday sales from this past weekend, and has us really curious as to how well Sony has been doing of late -- Sony's been mum on Move numbers since it announced 1 million units shipped about a month ago. Microsoft says it's on pace to sell 5 million Kinect units through this holiday, which leads us to wonder: what sort of 3D video extravaganza could we pull off with 5 million Kinects in tandem?

‘Massive’ Windows Phone 7 update coming in January

Microsoft has been talking about Windows Phone 7 updates since long before Windows Phone 7 was even released. While the OS’ launch was a bit rushed, we have to commend Microsoft for taking a pretty open stance and choosing to talk about upcoming functionality instead of shrugging off inquiries as most companies do. WP7 users should be happy to learn that many of the upcoming features Microsoft has been discussing could be coming as soon as January in a major update. According to Windows Phone 7 developer Chris Walsh, who claims to have inside knowledge of the update, Microsoft’s upcoming software bump will be “massive.” Expected features include copy/paste, free voice-guided Bing navigation, custom ringtone support, a third-party multitasking solution and more. Needless to say, all of this functionality is sorely missed in Windows Phone 7 as it stands today.

JYJ’s first concert starts off on a chilly note

More than 30,000 fans packed Seoul’s Olympic Main Stadium on November 27th, enduring the cold weather for JYJ’s first concert from their JYJ Worldwide Concert in Seoul. Early reports stated the concert was successful, but more detailed reviews of the concert now are stating otherwise.

After all of the issues JYJ faced throughout their US tour, due to the many mishaps from their pr and events management team, we were hoping they would have better luck back home. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the case according to this report by the Korea Times:

KARA’s new album “Girl’s Talk” breaks 6 year old record in Japan, sells over 100,000 copies

Korean five member girl group, KARA released their first Japanese original album “Girl’s Talk” on November 24th. It’s been reported that this album has sold 107,000 copies in the first week, which was good enough to place them second on the Oricon weekly chart for December 6th.

This is the first time in 6 years and 9 months for an Asian girl group (excluding Japanese ones) to sell 100,000 copies in their first week since Twelve Girls Band (Chinese instrumental band) did it back in March 2004 with the release of their album “Kikou ~Shining Energy~.”

The sales of “Girl’s Talk” is almost double that of “KARA BEST 2007-2010” first week sales (51,000 copies) which was released back in September.

Wake up and smell the money! Julia Roberts paid £1m for coffee ad... and she doesn't even have to say anything

She held the crown of Hollywood's highest paid actress for most of the last decade, only recently being toppled by the likes of Sandra Bullock, Reese Witherspoon and Cameron Diaz.

But perhaps America's Sweetheart Julia Roberts is attempting to claw back to the top spot, after agreeing to appear in a 45-second advertisement for Italian coffee house Lavazza - for the hefty fee of 1.2 million euros (£1.14 million).

Lavazza bosses are seemingly so confident in Julia's talent that she is not even required to speak for her role in the 45-second ad.

The actress appears in the heavenly advertisement, to be screened over the Christmas period in Italy, as Botticelli's Venus in a setting in the clouds.

The scene opens with the painter at his wits end as his difficult muse refuses to smile for him as he attempts to create his masterpiece, Spring Allegory.

No Windows Phone 7 App Hub royalties until Feb 2011 latest in developer woes

Microsoft has supposedly told Windows Phone 7 developers that they won’t see any App Hub payments for paid-app sales until February 2011, according to coder Justin James, while the absence of any download feedback or analytics is leaving developers uncertain whether to continue investing in their software. Nicholas Yu, who created a Google Voice app for WP7 called GoVoice, has complained that responding to the number one feature request from users – push notifications – would require server investment that, with the limited tools Microsoft makes available, he cannot currently judge worthwhile.

“Currently I have no idea how many copies of GoVoice are sold nor did I receive a single paycheck. Implementing Push is a very risky thing for me because I need to justify that the expenses will cover the maintenance cost of a Push server” Nicholas Yu, developer, GoVoice

GoVoice will get limited push notification support, but initially only as part of a gradual roll-out. Similarly, it seems James will continue development, but he warns fellow coders should “think of Windows Phone 7 development as a hobby or a learning experience rather than a source of revenue.” He also saves some scathing words for Microsoft’s poor customer service, including rejection feedback and general support.

Microsoft announced recently that it had 15,000 developers using the Windows Phone 7 SDK, and 3,000 applications in the WP7 Marketplace. The company had previously confirmed that it used “revenue guarantees” and the promise of engineer cooperation to get significant coding houses on board for the smartphone platform’s launch; now it needs to show it can maintain its developer relations.

Kendra Wilkinson slips back into her tiny bikini after declaring: 'My body is back and I want to show it off'

She’s made no secret of her struggle to lose her baby weight, but after 11 months of gruelling exercise, Kendra Wilkinson is finally satisfied with her bikini body again.

The former Playboy pin-up showed off her lithe frame after losing over three-and-a-half stone (50 lbs) since giving birth in December 2009.

‘My body is back, and I want to show it off’, the 25-year-old declared during her latest photo shoot.

So she took the opportunity to slip back into a skimpy pink string bikini and peep toe heels as she carried her 11-month-old son Hank Jnr.

In another shot, the reality TV star posed in a red two piece with black heels outside her family mansion.

And she told US Magazine during the shoot that she and her American Football star husband Hank Baskett are already talking about having another baby.

Despite admitting that ‘pregnancy is not for me’, Kendra says she loves being a mum and ‘would go through it all again.’

James Franco & Anne Hathaway Hosting the Oscars

Hollywood's biggest night is getting a double-dose of talent.

James Franco and Anne Hathaway will serve as co-hosts for the 83rd annual Academy Awards, producers confirmed Monday.

Franco has earned critical raves for his latest film, 127 Hours, the real-life story of outdoorsman Aron Ralston who cut off part of his arm after getting it stuck under a boulder. The actor's resume includes diverse roles in Eat, Pray, Love, General Hospital, Milk and Pineapple Express.

Hathaway's newest project is the much-hyped Love and Other Drugs in which she costars with Jake Gyllenhaal. She also showed off her singing and dancing chops when she performed a musical number with Hugh Jackman when he hosted the Oscars two years ago.

"James Franco and Anne Hathaway personify the next generation of Hollywood icons – fresh, exciting and multi-talented," Oscar telecast producers Bruce Cohen and Don Mischer said Monday.

The Oscars air live on ABC from the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center on February 27.

Patent Wars Begin as Apple, Nokia Square Off

This week Apple and Nokia are facing each other in a legal conflict over smartphone patents before the International Trade Commission, the first of several disputes over intellectual property that could redefine the smartphone market.

The current conflict began in October 2009 when Nokia sued Apple, alleging that the Cupertino-based company had infringed on 10 of its patents with the iPhone. Apple countersued in December 2009, upping the ante by saying Nokia was in violation of 13 of its patents.

If Nokia wins, Apple could lose the right to sell the iPhone in the U.S. If Apple wins, Nokia's devices could be shut out of the U.S. market altogether. The losing company could end up going to the other for licensing rights to continue marketing its devices.

Whoever takes this round, the Apple-Nokia dispute is just the beginning of a series of legal conflicts for Apple. Up next are disputes with Motorola and HTC; The hearing in the HTC case is scheduled for May, according the the ITC Web site.

Bloomberg reports that Apple has turned to several top technology lawyers to beef up its legal team in advance of the case. Bruce Sewell, Apple's general counsel, came aboard last year after 15 years at Intel. Another recruit is Noreen Krall, formerly of Sun Microsystems. For outside counsel, Apple will get advice from William Lee, who successfully represented Broadcom against Qualcomm, and Robert Krupka, who negotiated Apple's $100 million settlement with Creative Labs in 2005.

Microsoft in talks to start new TV service using the 360?

Microsoft's been strangely quiet during the recent smart TV explosion even though it has arguably the most mature set of products in Windows Media Center and Mediaroom, and now we know why: Reuters says MS has been meeting with media companies in an effort to create an entirely new TV service possibly delivered through the Xbox 360. Apparently there are multiple options on the table, ranging from a full-on "virtual cable operator" with monthly fees to using the 360 as an extension of existing cableco online TV initiatives to simply delivering certain channels like ESPN and HBO a la carte, and Reuters' sources say the plan might take another 12 months to develop. That sounds like a bit too long, if you ask us: Apple and Google are waging a major living room assault, and we can't imagine Microsoft is willing to miss another technology cycle -- especially not one where it holds the significant advantage of the 360's installed base and proven history as an IPTV device on multiple operators worldwide, including Uverse. We'll see what happens -- it sounds like the battle might finally be joined.

The Wonder Girls meet Jay Chou

A picture of the Wonder Girls with popular Taiwanese singer Jay Chou was recently revealed.

On November 29th, maknae Hye Lim uploaded the photo, where the five girls were smiling shyly, with Jay Chou standing next to members Ye Eun and Hye Lim.

Hye Lim wrote on her Twitter, “I met Jay Chou, one of my most favorite artists.”

It was later reported that this picture was taken at a celebration party after the conclusion of the 2010 Zhejiang Stars Concert organized by China Mobile on November 27th where Jay Chou and the Wonder Girls were among those who performed.

No silver lining in Chrome OS delays

Google executives like to say they celebrate their failures, reasoning that when something fails, at least they've learned something. Perhaps with Chrome OS, they're learning how to set expectations.

It's looking pretty clear that Google is going to miss its fourth-quarter target for the launch of Chrome OS, a lightweight Web-based operating system that is designed for Netbooks. The company hasn't said as much, but Google CEO Eric Schmidt referred to the Chrome OS launch as "a few months" away in mid-November, and Jim Wong, senior vice president for Acer, told reporters last week that Google is planning a consumer launch in 2011.

Ocosmos OSC1 Oak Trail tablet detailed: due Q1 2011

Details on the Ocosmos OSC1 UMPC which Intel briefly flashed at IDF 2010 earlier this year have emerged, set to be one of the first Oak Trail devices assuming the company can find carriers willing to take it on. According to the spec sheet, the OSC1 will have either a 1.5GHz or 1.9GHz Oak Trail CPU running Windows 7, 400MHz GPU with HD decoding, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, and a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen running at 1024 x 768.

There are also dual cameras – 5-megapixels on the back, 1.3-megapixels on the front – and a QWERTY keyboard revealed when you slide the display up. Connectivity includes HDMI, USB 2.0 (with host support), a 3.5mm headphone socket and a microSD card slot to augment the 32GB internal SSD. The whole thing measures in at 174 x 83.4 x 15.9 mm.

Ocosmos apparently reckons the OSC1 will manage 10hrs of runtime from a full charge, though UMPC Portal expects that to be more like 3hrs with a regular battery or 5-7hrs if they fit a significantly larger power pack. The company is targeting a Q1 2011 launch and thinks AT&T or Korea Telecoms would be ideal carrier partners, but aren’t saying anything on pricing.

Nintendo Sells 1.5 Million Consoles Over Black Friday Week

While Black Friday is over and done with, and we’re knee-deep in the savings that come with Cyber Monday, it looks like Nintendo made a killing off the Black Friday week. They sold plenty of consoles, which include members of the DS family, as well as the Wii home console. They sold enough, in fact, that the company feels like a formal press release is the right thing to do. Some may call this bragging, but then again, when you’ve sold as many consoles as Nintendo did, there might be a little room to do that.

The company sold 1.5 million consoles over the week, and thankfully Nintendo was nice enough to break it down for us, in their press release. When it came to the Wii home video game console, consumers managed to pick up 600,000 of them. As for the DS line-up of portable gaming consoles, consumers managed to purchase 900,000 of those over the week. If you’re curious, that means that people were buying 9,000 Nintendo-branded video game consoles every hour, of every day, throughout the Black Friday week.

And the Biggest Turkey of the Holiday Weekend Was…?

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 ruled the Thanksgiving box office, with an estimated $50.3 million Friday-Sunday gross.

But did Tangled challenge Potter? Do Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway nude scenes sell? Was Burlesque really the new Showgirls? And, let's have at it, what was the weekend's biggest turkey?

The surprising answers:

For starters, nope, Burlesque was not the new Showgirls: Showgirls opened bigger.

Yup. If you use Box Office Mojo's secret formula, and adjust the box-office receipts of the 1995 "classic" for inflation, you'll find the elder film grossed roughly $14.8 million in its Friday-Sunday debut versus the $11.8 million weekend for Cher's and Christina Aguilera's backstage musical.

But, hold on…

'Naked Gun' Funnyman Leslie Nielsen Dead at 84

Leslie Nielsen, who made audiences laugh with his ridiculous seriousness and deadpan deliveries in the absurd scenes of comedy films like Airplane! and The Naked Gun has died. He was 84.

His agent, John. S. Kelly, confirmed that the actor died Sunday near his home in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., surrounded by his "lovely wife and friends" at 5:34 p.m. ET, due to complications of pneumonia.

Nielsen had been hospitalized for nearly two weeks as a result of pneumonia, his agent said.

"Just in this last 48 hours, the infection has gotten too much," his nephew Doug Nielsen told Canadian radio station CKNW. "He just fell asleep and passed away."

Canadian In Hollywood

Born in Saskatchewan, Canada, where his father was a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Nielsen began his career in television in the 1950s, after training at New York's Neighborhood Playhouse.

He found early success as a dramatic actor in the 1972 blockbuster The Poseidon Adventure (he played the captain of the doomed ship) and on TV shows like Bonanza and The Fugitive.

Jackie has become the youngest solo artist with a Top 10 single on the charts and even managed to become the bestselling debut artist of 2010.

“Jackie Evancho is one of the purest and finest vocalists I’ve ever heard, and the initial response to her debut release has been phenomenal,” says Steve Barnett, chairman of Evancho’s home label at Columbia Records.

WikiLeaked Diplomatic Cables Confirm China’s Politburo Was Behind Google Hacking Incident

Details about the U.S. State Department cables obtained by WikiLeaks are starting to come out. Although WikiLeaks itself may be under a denial of service attack, it provided several newspapers around the world access to the raw documents it is preparing to release later today. The New York Times just posted it’s first article summarizing the contents of the cables and highlighting the most newsworthy ones.

Among the 251,287 U.S. diplomatic cables leaked by WikiLeaks, there is one set which deals with the massive computer attack on Google and other companies which was first revealed last January. At that time, Google went public with its contention that the attacks came from the Chinese government, and resulted in Google temporarily pulling out if China. They returned in a more limited way last summer.

According to the NYT, some of the new leaked cables point directly at China’s Politburo for instigating the original attacks:

A global computer hacking effort: China’s Politburo directed the intrusion into Google’s computer systems in that country, a Chinese contact told the American Embassy in Beijing in January, one cable reported. The Google hacking was part of a coordinated campaign of computer sabotage carried out by government operatives, private security experts and Internet outlaws recruited by the Chinese government. They have broken into American government computers and those of Western allies, the Dalai Lama and American businesses since 2002, cables said.

The cables should shed some more light on why the White House and State Department backed Google so vociferously at the time.

AMOLED shortage to become a surplus in 2011

Samsung's beautiful Super AMOLED panels are becoming more and more common in mobile devices, but they're not as common as they could be if there were more of the things flying out of Samsung Mobile Display factories. Predictably that's set to change in 2011, with SMD planning to fulfill its promise and bring another production facility online, while other competitors in Korea, Taiwan, and Singapore will ramp up their own AMOLED facilities in the coming year. Meanwhile, China is said to be working on its OLED supply chain as well, meaning those displays of the passive matrix variety will also be flying off of assembly lines soon. So, 2011 may still not be the year of a chicken in every pot, but it could be the year of glowy organic goo in every smartphone.

'Harry Potter' Leads Holiday Weekend With $50.3M

Harry Potter has narrowly won a box-office tangle with a fairy-tale princess.

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1" remained the No. 1 movie with $50.3 million over Thanksgiving weekend, closely followed by the animated musical "Tangled" with $49.1 million.

According to distributor Warner Bros., the next-to-last "Harry Potter" movie raised its domestic total to $220.4 million after just 10 days in theaters.

"Tangled" is the latest Disney cartoon musical, with Mandy Moore providing the voice of fairy-tale princess Rapunzel. The movie raised its total to $69 million since opening the day before Thanksgiving.

More update later

'Harry Potter' ekes out Friday victory with $20.8 mil

In a surprisingly close race, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 1 held on to its box-office crown Friday by grossing $20.8 million, according to early estimates. That’s a 66 percent drop from the fantasy film’s opening last Friday, which was inflated due to an enormous turnout at Thursday midnight screenings. If Deathly Hallows follows the Thanksgiving trajectory of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire — the last Potter film to open in November — the PG-13 movie should finish the weekend with about $50 million. That would bring Deathly Hallows‘ 10-day tally to $220 million, making it the 10th greatest 10-day gross in box-office history and the best ever for a Potter flick.

But Friday wasn’t only a celebration for wizards, as Disney’s animated musical Tangled came in close behind with $19.7 million. The PG movie, which debuted Wednesday, has grossed $39.7 million so far, and has a shot at overtaking Deathly Hallows for the three-day weekend. If that happens, it’d be due to one reason: incredible word-of-mouth. CinemaScore audiences rated the fairy-tale film an “A+” — the first movie this year to garner the rare grade. Even more impressive is the fact that while moviegoers under the age of 25 rated Tangled an “A,” those over the age of 25 gave it an “A+.” Clearly this retelling of Rapunzel is delivering for all age groups, and when that happens, watch out. Tangled is on pace to finish second this weekend with about $47 million, but again, it could very well upset Potter for first place. Seems the lesson here is: Never underestimate a woman with ridiculously long hair.

Spotted! Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal Cozy Up in Nashville

It's been a busy travel weekend for most Americans – and especially for Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal.

Two days after enjoying maple lattes together in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Thanksgiving, Swift and Gyllenhaal popped up in the singer's hometown of Nashville.

On Saturday afternoon, the couple were spotted getting a late breakfast at Fido, a coffeehouse and café near Vanderbilt University and Music Row.

"They were smiling and laughing. They were talking a lot and enjoying each other's company," fellow diner Elaina Mishu tells PEOPLE. "They didn't look like [just] friends."

Customer Emma Rice, who snapped a photo of the pair and posted it online, calls the duo "very cute" and says, "They seemed close."

The singer, 20, and actor, 29, were first spotted together in late October.

And while Gyllenhaal has avoided commenting on his relationship with Swift, they aren't hiding their affection.

"They were not trying to be discreet by any means," another eyewitness says of the pair, who sat at a table near a window. "They were definitely a couple. They looked very happy."

c refresh with SSD, Light Peak & no DVD in April 2011?

With most of the excitement happening in Apple’s iPad tablet, MacBook Air ultraportable and iPhone 4 smartphone segments, the poor MacBook Pro has been somewhat relegated. The latest rumors, however, suggest that’s all likely to change in April 2011, with Three Guys and a Podcast tipping a significant refresh that will see the new MacBook Pro gain not only up to 512GB of SSD storage in a wholesale shift to solid-state memory, but the adoption of Intel’s Light Peak technology.

“The new MacBook Pros will move to solid state storage, up to 512GB, remove the optical drive, and we believe light-peak is being pushed to make it’s first-ever entrance into the market, another Apple exclusive.” Three Guys and a Podcast

Light Peak is a new, super-high-speed data transfer technology promising – in its first iteration, at least – up to 10 Gbps of bidirectional throughput. Billed as the replacement to USB 3.0, Intel has previously said that the first Light Peak enabled machines should arrive by early 2011; they’ve also worked with Apple on the system, and TGAAP reckon the technology will be a Cupertino exclusive, at least at first.

Finally, the new MacBook Pro will also apparently lose its optical drive, and gain a new version of Final Cut Pro that will also debut in April 2011. Apple is expected to keep a “legacy” 15-inch MBP for those unwilling to drop the DVD burner, priced at around $1,799, but the new machines should kick off at $1,999. It’s unclear exactly what the podcast’s sources are, but they do have a reasonable track history of predicting Apple events.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Go Holiday Shopping in Paris

On the first day of Christmas, my sisters gave to me ... a large plastic alligator?

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie took daughters Zahara and Shiloh holiday shopping in Paris Saturday and it looks like they'll be able to check quite a few things of their gift list, including pants, pajamas, gloves, sweaters, boots, stuffed animals, knights' costumes (complete with tunics, swords and shields) and one large green plastic alligator, according to staff at the Bonpoint boutique on rue de Tournon near the Luxembourg Gardens.

"Angelina was great," an onlooker tells PEOPLE. "She's patient, and a very hands-on mother, making certain everything fits."

Pitt was "very agreeable, absolutely polite and excellent with the girls" as well, a store employee says.

In town to promote film projects – Pitt's Megamind and Jolie's The Tourist – the couple squeezed in more than an hour of shopping with Zahara, 5, and Shiloh, 4, at the celeb-friendly boutique, where Salma Hayek, Jessica Alba and Michelle Obama have visited.

"[Shiloh] wanted pants and picked out a pair of zebra-patterned boots," a clerk says of Saturday's stop.

J.Y.J’s Jaejoong apologizes for the one hour delay at their concert in Seoul

JYJ’s ‘Worldwide Concert in Seoul‘ was recently held at the Jamsil Sports Complex Olympics Stadium on the evening of November 27th. However, setbacks near the beginning of the concert unfortunately forced fans to wait in the freezing cold for an hour.

Due to a sudden hailstorm on the day of the event, the marquee that was covering the roofless stadium had ripped, and various stage equipment needed to be adjusted in order for a safe showcase to be held.

JYJ member Yoochun stated, “We put in a lot of effort to prepare for this concert, but because of the hailstorm this morning, the tent ripped completely. We thought the ripped covering would hurt the spectators and decided to remove it, which consequently resulted in a delay.”

The Yankees slugger was spotted sunbathing on a yacht in Miami with black bikini-clad ex-gal pal Cameron last Tuesday, Us Weekly reported Wednesday, sparking rumors that the couple have rekindled their romance, less than a month after they called time on their courtship in October.

“They looked super couple-y,” an insider told the celebrity magazine. “Cameron was holding his hand and nuzzling him.”

Diaz, 38, and A-Rod, 35, were first romantically linked in February, when they were spotted flirting and dancing at a Miami party. But after more than seven months together, Life & Style Magazine reported November 5 that the two had called it quits.

“He just doesn’t like her anymore. That’s honestly the reason they split,” a tattle told the tab at the time.

Since they reportedly parted ways, Diaz was spied with a mystery man in London and a Los Angeles nightclub with Glee star Matthew Morrison.

Google exec: 60% of businesses could dump Windows for Chrome OS

Google continues to send the world mixed messages about Chrome OS.

Depending on who you ask about Chrome OS at Google or among Google analysts, you could hear any one of the following messages:
  • Chrome OS will be released in December
  • Chrome OS has been delayed until 2011
  • Chrome OS will be killed before it comes to market
  • Chrome OS and Android will merge into one platform

The latest information comes from a New York Times report that cites its source as Linus Upson, Chrome chief and Google vice president of engineering. The new report says Google recently deployed new systems loaded with Chrome OS to internal Google employees, including Sergey Brin. The Google co-founder reluctantly made the exchange.

However, the kicker in the Times story was this: “Mr. Upson says that 60 percent of businesses could immediately replace their Windows machines with computers running Chrome OS. He also says he hopes it will put corporate systems administrators out of work because software updates will be made automatically over the Web.”

U.S. seizes sites linked to copyright infringement

The U.S. government has launched a major crackdown on online copyright infringement, seizing dozens of sites linked to illegal file sharing and counterfeit goods.

Torrent sites that link to illegal copies of music and movie files and sites that sell counterfeit goods were seized this week by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement division of the Department of Homeland Security. Visitors to such sites as Torrent-finder.com, 2009jerseys.com, and Dvdcollects.com found that their usual sites had been replaced by a message that said, "This domain name has been seized by ICE--Homeland Security Investigations, pursuant to a seizure warrant issued by a United States District Court."

"My domain has been seized without any previous complaint or notice from any court!" the owner of Torrent-Finder told TorrentFreak, which listed more than 70 domains that were apparently part of the massive seizure.

Jay Chou is the top money maker of 2010

Which is no surprise. Appledaily has crowned Jay Chou as the top money making singer of 2010. The popular annual ranking was based on figures provided by record companies, advertisers and concert organizers.

President Chou has outdone himself again by making an estimated 852 million NTD in 2010. It was only a year ago when he broke the 700 million mark, which earn him the title “Cape 700 million” (referencing the hit movie “Cape No. 7”.) Jay Chou completed 31 shows as part of his world concert tour, 20 paid performances, as well as numerous endorsement deals.

Coming in second was none other than his ex Jolin Tsai. The songstress was estimated to have earned 457.69 million NTD from music royalties, endorsements, concerts, paid performances and clothing line. Since the inception of this ranking in 2004, Double-J has earned a whopping 4.9 billion NTD with 3.1 of it coming from Jay Chou alone. Behind them in third place was S.H.E. Prior to Selina’s accident, the group has already earned 380 million NTD in 2010. In addition to album sales, endorsements and concert tour, they also showed their diversity with Ella’s drama and Hebe’s solo album.

Actress Goo Hye-sun to serve as South Korea's film ambassador in Asia Pacific Film Festival despite brewing anti-Korean sentiments in Taiwan

Next week marks the 54th Asia Pacific Film Festival, a prestigious film festival held in Taiwan this year which gathers top filmmakers and entertainers from around the region to celebrate the joys of film. In an effort to expand the film festival to a larger and more general audience, organizers for the festival hoped to continue inviting popular pop groups from South Korea to take part in musical performances since South Korean boy band Super Junior's participation at last year's festivities.

Due to the recent row stemming from female Taiwanese taekwondo athlete Yang Shu-chun's disqualification from the recent Asian Games by a South Korean sports official not present at the match, brewing anti-Korean sentiments in Taiwan led to organizers of the festival to terminate those original plans. "We were considering inviting South Korean groups to perform but we decided to drop the idea as the atmosphere is wrong," Justin Chou, an organizer of the Asia Pacific Film Festival, told reporters.

Aspiring singer dies during plastic surgery

A former contestant of China's Super Girl singing contest, the equivalent of American idol, died last week after a cosmetic procedure to narrow her jawbone.

2005 Super Girls contestant Wang Bei died while undergoing plastic surgery, in Wuhan, Hubei province, according to Tianfu Morning News.

The singer and sometime model, 24, was having a facial "bone-shaving" operation, when the doctor was thought to have made a mistake, causing blood to flow into her lungs. Wang died of suffocation.

The doctor is said to have secretly transferred her to Wuhan No 161 Hospital, but it was too late to save her life.

According to media reports, Wang Bei, 24, underwent the procedure with her mother in Wuhan. Her mother was only told of her death a day later.

Taylor Swift & Jake Gyllenhaal Share Thanksgiving Maple Lattes

Families across the country spent their Thanksgiving evenings tuning into Taylor Swift's NBC special Taylor Swift: Speak Now. But where was the starlet spending her Turkey Day?

In Brooklyn, alongside new boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal. Around 10:30 a.m., the pair popped into Park Slope's Gorilla Coffee for specialty maple lattes, made with pure Vermont syrup.

"They were really sweet, really really sweet," says a source at the shop, adding that the duo also tipped well.

"They get treated like normal people around here," says the source, noting that Gyllenhaal, 29, deals with the occasional star-struck customer politely.

The actor's sister Maggie Gyllenhaal lives near the crowded neighborhood shop – which boasts loud music and an energetic staff – and frequently stops in.

The source says that this was Swift's first time in the shop. Being introduced to favorite family haunts? Sounds like the singer-songwriter, 20, is being welcomed right into the Gyllenhaal family lifestyle – one maple latte at a time.

Microsoft: we figured people would hack Windows Phone 7, would suggest that they don't

Hot on the heels of the release of a utility for bypassing the Windows Marketplace and sideloading your own apps, Microsoft has released a brief statement on the state of the Windows Phone 7 hacking community... and we wouldn't exactly say they're too worked up about it:

"We anticipated that people would attempt to unlock the phones and explore the underlying operating system. We encourage people to use their Windows Phone as supplied by the manufacturer to ensure the best possible user experience. Attempting to unlock a device could void the warranty, disable phone functionality, interrupt access to Windows Phone 7 services or render the phone permanently unusable."

So yeah, we'd say this is more or less a boilerplate quote: "we figured you'd hack this thing, we'd prefer it if you didn't, and here's a laundry list of things that could (but probably won't) happen if you fail to heed our meek warning." Over the long term, we wouldn't be surprised if Redmond ended up playing an Apple-style cat-and-mouse game with these folks, breaking hacks with firmware updates only to have them re-hacked within a few days' time. Considering the lack of spitfire in the statement here, we don't see them coming down too hard unless legitimate, card-carrying, fee-paying developers throw a fit -- and granted, ChevronWP7 stands to make loading pirated apps a breeze, so that could very well happen.

Kim Kardashian's Thanksgiving Date Night With Halle Berry's Ex Gabriel Aubry

These new "friends" must be BFFs already, because they've been caught hanging out twice in one week... including Thanksgiving!

E! confirms that celeb Kim Kardashian shared her Turkey Day festivities with model Gabriel Aubry.

The duo, who was seen at a Lakers game together earlier this week, took a drive in Aubrey's white Rolls-Royce and watched Burlesque at ArcLight Cinemas.

K.K. then tweeted, "We ate too much!"

Exactly who is "we"? Well, it turns out that Halle Berry's ex joined in on the carb fest with the Kardashian clan.

Although Mama Jenner is saying they're just friends, a source claims that Aubry is Kardashian's "official boyfriend."

And just in time for the holidays!
